The Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG)

The Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) was a global socialist movement that eventually became the sole governing body on Sera following the end of the Pendulum Wars.

Origins

Founded by Alexiy Desipich, the COG's philosophy was based on the "Octus Canon," an eight-point set of values: Order, Diligence, Purity, Labor, Honor, Loyalty, Faith, and Humility.

For most of its history, the COG was a minor political player. However, as the Pendulum Wars dragged on for 79 years, the COG's centralized structure and focus on military efficiency allowed it to survive where other nations crumbled.

The Military: Gears

The COG's military forces, known as Gears, are famous for their heavy Mark II Armor and the iconic Lancer Assault Rifle with its integrated chainsaw bayonet.

Key Divisions

• Royal Tyran Infantry: One of the most prestigious divisions, where Marcus Fenix served.
• Kilo Squad: A famous squad during the early days of the Locust War.
• Delta Squad: The legendary team that would eventually end the war.

Philosophy of Survival

Following Emergence Day, the COG adopted the "Fortification" strategy. Chairman Richard Prescott declared that "Order" was the only way to avoid extinction, leading to controversial decisions like the Hammer of Dawn strikes that scorched Sera's surface to stop the Locust advance.
