Emergence Day: The Tactical Overview

On Emergence Day, the Locust Horde didn't just attack; they executed a masterclass in global asymmetric warfare.

The Subterranean Strategy

For centuries, humanity looked to the stars, never suspecting that a massive civilization lived in the "Hollow" beneath their feet. The Locust used Emergence Holes (E-Holes) to bypass all surface fortifications, appearing in the heart of cities, military bases, and government centers simultaneously.

The Coordinated Strike

Unlike the human wars of the past, the Locust assault was perfectly synchronized. Within the first hour:

  1. Communications were severed: Underground cables were severed by seismic activity or direct Locust sabotage.
  2. Leadership was targeted: Many high-ranking officials were killed in their homes or offices before they could issue commands.
  3. Mobilization was blocked: Emergence holes appeared on runways and in the middle of tank depots, preventing a swift COG response.

Why We Weren't Prepared

Humanity had just finished the 79-year Pendulum Wars. We were exhausted, our resources were depleted, and we were looking for peace. The Locust waited until we were at our weakest to strike.

The first 24 hours saw the fall of major cultural and political hubs like Jannermont and Mercy. If not for the rapid mobilization of the remaining COG forces under Chairman Prescott, humanity would have been wiped out within a week.
